For photography enthusiasts, amateurs and professionals alike, this is an evening where the people behind the camera finally get the audience they deserve. Photographers tell stories worth telling, and here they get the stage, the spotlight, and a room full of people who came to listen.

We've been organizing these evenings since 2016 because photography connects us: it connects photographers to each other, and it connects the audience to the person behind the image. Watching a full theater come alive for a medium we love, that's what keeps us doing this.

The evening brings you:

• Conversations with four photographers about a new project, book, or exhibition

• A spoken column on an image from current events

• Pitch your photo project: three promising photographers get three minutes each to pitch their project to a full house. A jury and the audience vote together, and the winner moves forward with guidance and support from our partners

• A curator walking you through an exhibition

Offstage, the evening continues: meet fellow photographers, get a book signed, or browse our stand of books and prints.

Since 2016, thousands of visitors have filled the largest theaters in Flanders, Brussels, and the Netherlands for a show by De Donkere Kamer, based on an original concept by Dupho (NL). And we're building further: this show is growing beyond our borders.
